Who am I?
I’m someone:
Who spends far too much time reading on the couch with my cat, Lola.
Whose ‘day job’ includes wrangling some 400 kids at a local elementary.
Whose ‘night/weekend job’ is backstage at a local theater or concert venue working with lighting, props, costumes, video walls…
Whose favorite exercise is dancing, with Zumba as a current passion.
Who has a dance pole installed in my living room and rarely uses it…
Who has been to over a dozen countries with at least another dozen on my bucket list.
Who collects friends and lovers that see her authentic self.
Who wants everyone to know the joy and security of finding that ‘safe person’ who sees all of you and judges you as completely valid and deserving.
Why editing?
I'm an avid reader with a bachelors in English with a focus on Language/Linguistics. I always find myself editing anything I read, and getting frustrated when something is published with numerous errors, so I decided I'd offer my knowledge to writers to help avoid irritating their readers. My goal is to perfect the technical side to allow your voice, and your vision, to shine.
I love the flexibility of fiction because it allows the author’s voice to show itself more clearly with grammar or punctuation choices that may not be “correct” according to MLA or APA style guides but are authentic and understandable to the readers.
Why erotica?
I believe that everyone deserves to see themselves in fiction, and doubly so in erotic fiction. Too often our societies teach us that there are very strict rules around what is appropriate or acceptable in terms of sexuality and relationships in general, and fiction can provide a space for that to be challenged, ignored, or flat out criticized. I love that romance focused novels can allow someone a peek into an experience that is different from their own, can help people to comprehend some different relationship styles, and some can even help people to realize what is (or isn’t) healthy in their own relationships. Erotica can allow people to explore their own sexuality, to get a glimpse of different kinks or fetishes in a controlled, non-threatening environment (often requiring only an internet connection and some time), and can give people the courage and inspiration to make some changes in their own erotic lives.
While I am very much a proponent of enthusiastic, informed consent, I also understand that sometimes fantasies are just that, fantasy. If your work runs more towards the dark side or the non-consensual, trust that you will find no judgment from me. I appreciate trigger warnings as they help me know what to expect as I’m reading, but my only hard limit is that I will not edit any erotic content about children/underage people.
